giving blood

i gave blood today...the nurse told me that i have to drink consistently for the next 48 hours...IMPLYING THAT , IN TWO DAYS TIME...MY LIPS WILL NEVER HAVE TO TOUCH ANOTHER DROP OF LIQUID AGAIN...that seems strange...but what the fuck...who am i to question the medical profession ???
