1-get people together...appeal to desire for...sex , money and or power
2-make it seem like this is not what is happening...a.k.a...god wants to give you STUFF
3-convince them things that are harmless are wrong...most people will believe anything if you tell
it to them enough times
4-now , thoroughly confused...their behavior will have disastrous results
5-morally ashamed...they will now lie to you...a cover-up
6-they will do shit for you to overcompensate and convince you they are holy
7-ritualistic behavior will be adapted...an addiction to facilitate the HIDING
