new used sneakers part 1

during one of my financial crisis...walking down the street...i happened upon a pair of sneakers in virtually perfect condition...i went to pick them up...however , i decided that there were too many people looking so i continued on my way..roughly translated...pride got the best of me...next scene...the next day (or something like that)...still feeling upset about the incident and what it suggests about my character...i happen upon another pair of sneakers...i approach...there is a note inside them...can't remember exactly what it said...but something like..."stop being proud and take the friggin' sneakers" .
