why do people go to church aug. 28 06

the fact of the matter is...there is never one reason for doing just about anything we do...which quickly brings us to religion...religion is basically what happens when we attempt to reduce god to a formula...and why would we do this??? power / addiction / ascetics / hiding...(specifically from sexual issues but not entirely) / and tradition...it is fairly obvious , actually...i mean...we cannot even reduce our relationships with each other to formulas and rituals...so how could we possibly do this to an eternal being...god comes down to just one thing...an extremely powerful force that is constantly compelling us to love each other...accept no less .
