the struggle
real intimacy takes courage...pain..self sacrifice...things that most will not adventure into...it is too hard...instead...they embrace what i refer to as love substitutes...DYNAMICS :1-children attempt love....2-it becomes obvious that this indeed is a difficult road...3-they fold...4-love substitutes are introduced...mutual needs are being met...it is not perfect...yet at times there is quite a measure of success...5-this is institutionalized and patterns are reinforced...6-the situation is defended with violence...(usually a calm systematic form of violence)...7-at this point...real intimacy is seen as a threat...which brings us back to the beginning .
